Hi! I’m Rianna and I’m a playwright and writer based in London.

Image Description: Rianna, a brown-skinned Black woman with short afro hair and a hat, is smiling. There is a large mountain range and some trees behind her. She wears hoop earrings and a black and white sweater/shirt.

I’m a Bermudian-British writer based in London. I graduated with a first-class honours degree from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2022 (and graduated again from Central at Masters level). I write theatre and comedy with hopes of a future career in writing for theatre, television, and beyond.

Recently, my work has been shortlisted for the Yale Drama Series Prize 2023 and longlisted for the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting 2022 and the Mustapha Matura Playwriting Award 2021. My work was also shortlisted for the WOLAB x Paines Plough First Commissions Theatre Scheme in 2020. I’ve worked with the Almeida Theatre as a part of their ‘Anthem’ initiative for young Black British writers and I now work at the National Theatre Archive on the Black Plays Archive. My CV can be found here.
